Allow me to properly introduce myself. :)
This is me, Justine, certified Plant-Based Nutritionist and Holistic Health Coach.
My story is quite interesting. I've had a long, hard road through many diseases, allergies, steps forward and even more steps back. Instead of boring you with the last ten years from when my health journey began to now I would like to just say this.. I don't have a bachelor's degree from some fancy college, I'm not a doctor and I don't have 6 different titles after my name. What do I have to offer? Experience. Though, I am certified as a plant-based nutritionist through eCornell and as a holistic health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, I think experience is most important.
I have the knowledge and understanding of what works best through my personal conditions, raising my two children and growing in this field through taking on new clients with different obstacles. I, myself, have been diagnosed with celiac disease, ulcerative colitis, IBD, diverticulitis and a lactose intolerance. I've been to many doctors who led me down a pharmaceutical path and spoke with many professionals who tried to convince me surgery was my only option. It wasn't until I weaned myself off all of the medications and started playing with my diet that I felt like I made the most progress. After five years of trial and error to find what works, what I can and can't eat and most importantly what makes me feel good; I continue to feel like I'm in a state of remission with a good digestive system and a healthy belly.
I have done my best to create good habits for myself and children that consist of organic, whole, plant-based foods, daily physical activity, and a positive place to grow and learn. We are a bunch of smoothie making, veggie roasting, dance partying animals. :) This lifestyle has become a top priority in my family. It has provided me with vitality, clear skin, shiny hair, and so much more. My two boys are extremely intelligent, vibrant, and full of pure natural energy.
I feel extremely blessed to have gotten this far and want nothing more than to help you do the same.
